The Millennium Native Forest Reserve thrives thanks to dedicated volunteers and a carefully managed planting process. At the heart of this effort is the shade house, affectionately known as “Len’s Den” after long-time volunteer Len Francis.
Today Christine McDonald using her forest ecology expertise ensures each plant is given the best chance to grow, selecting the right species for different areas and helping nature take its course—just a little faster!
Regular working bees keep the Reserve in top shape, from clearing invasive weeds to maintaining the tracks.
This forest is a testament to what a community can achieve, still there’s always room for one more helping hand!
