VIDEO 7 – The Diverse Forest

This film is introduced by Bella Rankin from Chanel College Whakaoriori Masterton.

The Millennium Forest is held under a QEII National Trust covenant. This body protects over 4,500 properties across New Zealand, preserving native biodiversity.
QEII conservationist officer Trevor Thompson showcases how this former pastureland has become a thriving ecosystem, home to towering Kahikatea and ancient Tōtara trees.
Herpetologist Reino Grundling also reveals how the Reserve is developing into a prime habitat for geckos and skinks, thanks to ongoing protection efforts.
